One of our Grade 4 pupils, Willow Courtauld, has been selected to be part of London Children’s Ballet 2012 and will be performing ‘A Little Princess’ at The Peacock Theatre with them in a month’s time. Abilgail Adler, a Seniors 2 student will be performing as part of the LCB touring company later on in the year. Congratulations to them both!
We are thrilled to announce that we had a 100 % pass rate for our RAD Examinations this year. All eighty candidates were awarded either a Merit or Distinction. A fantastic achievement – much deserved after all your hard work – well done!
In August Miss Vanessa, joined by 12 of our younger pupils (ranging in age from 3 – 5), gave a master class in how to approach teaching the pre-school child at the first International Dance Teacher’s Conference held at The Royal Ballet Upper School. The children were completely unfazed by their illustrious surroundings and performed magnificently. A hugely successful Covent Garden debut – we look forward to hopefully seeing some of them back there one day!
The Royal Academy of Dance recently updated their regulation attire from the voile to the tulip skirt. All children in the Reception, Pre-Primary and Primary classes are now required to wear ‘The Ballet School’ pale blue capped sleeve leotard with ‘The Ballet School’ pale blue tulip skirt. Our new joiners will automatically be fitted with this uniform but those existing pupils who still have the ‘chloe’ leotard and voile skirt need only make the change when a growth spurt or one too many washes demands it! We are very excited to announce that after half-term The Ballet School will be opening a fifth branch just across the river in Barnes. Classes will initially be held on a Wednesday afternoon at St Michael and All Angels Community Centre SW13.
