On Friday 17 June we will be taking a group of pupils to the London 02 Arena to watch the Royal Ballet Company in a unique production of Macmillan’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’. This particular event is an exclusive young person’s performance and is part of The Royal Opera House’s school’s matinee programme. This is the first time The Royal Ballet have performed in a London arena and with an all-star cast promises to be a ballet spectacle to remember.
We have been invited to watch The Royal Ballet Company in their daily class on Wednesday 8 June. Twenty of our pupils (Grade 2 and above) will be taken to The Royal Opera House and given the opportunity to discover what goes on behind the scenes and see some of the world’s most renowned dancers at close quarters!
Just pipping Kate and William to the post Miss Liane, who teaches at our Wandsworth and Notting Hill branches, last weekend wed Andrew Jackson in a suitably theatrical fashion! Hoping they are having a fabulous honeymoon and wishing them every happiness for their future together.
Congratulations to Honor Mackie who will next September be making the transition from Mid Associate to Senior Associate of The Royal Ballet School. She has also been offered a place on The Royal Ballet School’s International Summer School held at White Lodge in Richmond Park.
On Sunday 7th November 188 children appeared in The Ballet School’s production of Cinderella.
From Pumpkin to Broom, Pigeon to Fairy the entire cast performed magnificently and to great acclaim. Bravo! The performances were the fruition of an enormous amount of hard work so a very special thank you to all those who toiled away behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly and that the show was a hit.
