The Ballet School has grown considerably in the last few months and as a result of this we have a new office member! As many of you will already know, Sarah joined the team in March and will be answering The Ballet School’s phone and dealing with new registrations and general enquiries.

Congratulations to Honor Mackie who has been offered a part in The Royal Ballet’s upcoming production of ‘Cinderella’. Her Royal Opera House debut will be as a page – escorting Cinderella to the ball! Honor was also accepted into the Royal Ballet School’s Junior Associate Programme and started there in September.

Ottilie Rose Obert de Thieusies showed an impeccable sense of timing and decided to abandon her due date (Christmas Day) arriving instead on the 13th December 2009. She weighed in at 7lbs, sporting a Tin Tin hairdo and thanks to a spot of jaundice a rather enviable tan! She is very much looking forward to meeting all at The Ballet School soon.

Miss Vanessa is delighted to announce that she is expecting her second child (due on Christmas Day!). Her rather cumbersome bump and imminent arrival means she will be away for the rest of this term and next but all set to resume her post at the beginning of the Summer Term 2010.

Whilst she is on maternity leave she will be handing over her classes to two exceptionally talented (and very lovely!) ex-professional dancers, Miss Catherine and Miss Isabel who have been spending the last few weeks getting acquainted with the children and trying to learn 400 + names…

Congratulations to all those who took their Royal Academy of Dance Examination in the Summer Term, everyone did brilliantly with all 43 pupils who were entered (from Primary to Grade 4) passing with either a Merit or Distinction. View the results here.
