CINDERELLA Workshop

'CINDERELLA' Ballet Workshop

We are delighted to announce that The Ballet School’s summer holiday workshop will be based on the ballet ‘Cinderella’.

This is new for us as we haven’t done Cinderellabefore as a workshop so it will be very exciting!!

Our ever-popular workshops are designed to bring the classics to life through music, make up , choreography and costumes.  The school’s aim is to give the children an insight into the magical world of theatre. 

Age: 2.5-7 years old (Nursery – Primary)

Location: St Mary of the Angels Church Moorhouse Road W2 5DJ

Dates: Tuesday 25th July – Thursday 27th July

Times: 9.30-11.45 am

Cost:£120

At the end of the workshop (last 10 minutes of the Thursday session) parents are invited to watch the children perform a potted version of the full length work.

We ask that the children bring snacks and a drink for break time at which point they have the opportunity to watch a portion of the ballet, draw or read with their teacher, Miss Sophie.  The entire workshop has piano accompaniment and Miss Sophie works with her usual assistants.  Our workshops are always extremely popular so book here to avoid disappointment.

Although priority is usually given to pupils of The Ballet School, we do offer places to friends and siblings too.

The Junior Summer Ballet Camp

The Junior Summer Ballet Camp

We are delighted to announce that our Summer Ballet Camp will be running from Monday 24th – Friday 28th July 2022 12.00-4.00 pm at St Mary’s Moorhouse Road W25DJ

 

The Ballet Camp is a wonderful way to improve technique, learn and perform choreography from famous ballets, get further insight into the world of ballet and make new friends. Here will be a theatre and dinner outing on the Wednesday evening and a performance for parents on the Friday.  Taught by Miss Sophie and always a huge success, come and be part of the The Ballet School London’s Summer Ballet Camp!

 

Venue: St Mary of the Angels, Moorhouse Road W2 5DJ

Date: Monday 24th – Friday 28th July 2023

Time: 2.00 pm -6.30 pm (Wednesday evening theatre outing and dinner, Friday rehearsal 10.00-12.00 then 2.00 pm performance)

Age: 6-11 years (Primary – Grade 4)

Cost: £350 / £80 for individual days

Choreography Competition

Choreography Competition 2023

We are thrilled to announce that we will be holding our annual Choreography Competition again this year!

Choreography is the life-blood of dance and a wonderful way to channel creativity!

Book your son/daughter by emailing  sarah@theballetschool.co.uk.

It is open to all budding choreographers in Year 3 and above. Each entry or choreography must be between 1 to 3 minutes long and will be performed on Sunday 4 June starting at 4.30 pm at Westbourne Grove Church. There will be an entry fee of £45.00 per child. 

As well as the competition itself we will be organising a choreography workshop a few weeks beforehand to give our dancers some inspiration/ideas and also advice in how to set about constructing a piece. There will then be opportunities to rehearse in the studio where guidance and support will be given where needed by one of our team.

A selection of the students’ work will be performed at The Royal Ballet School, White Lodge at the beginning of June prior to the actual competition itself. These will be filmed and used to support The Royal Ballet School’s recently launched Affiliate and Training Assessment Programme as part of their Teacher Training.

For those of you who are new to The Ballet School, our ever-popular workshops are designed to bring the classics to life through music, make up , choreography and costumes.  Our aim is to give the children an insight into the magical world of theatre.

We are delighted to announce that The Ballet School’s end of spring term holiday workshop will be based on the ballet ‘The Tales of Beatrix Potter’.

Our ever-popular workshops are designed to bring the classics to life through music, make up, choreography and costumes. Our aim is to give the children an insight into the magical world of theatre. At the end of the workshop parents are invited to watch the children perform a potted version of the full length work. 

The entire workshop is taught by Miss Sophie and assisted by Miss Jess with piano accompaniment.

The ‘performance’ (which all parents/carers are cordially invited to!) will take place 15 minutes before the end of the session on the final day - Thursday, 6th April - 11:30am

Age:            2.5-6 years old (Nursery – Primary)

Alice in Wonderland’ Three Day Half term Workshop!

We are delighted to announce that The Ballet School’s half term workshop will be based on the Royal Ballet’s production of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon.

For those of you who are new to The Ballet School, our ever-popular workshops are designed to bring the classics to life through music, make up, choreography and costumes.  Our aim is to give the children an insight into the magical world of theatre.  At the end of the workshop parents are invited to watch their children perform a potted version of the full-length work.

The entire workshop is accompanied by our wonderful pianist Andy and taught by Miss Sophie and Miss Jess.

The ‘performance’ (which all parents/carers are cordially invited to!) will take place 15 minutes before the end of the session on the final day.

Thursday 16 February - 11.15am (morning workshop) / 3.30pm (afternoon workshop)

Age: 2.5-7 years old (Nursery– Primary)
